This is a Government approved qualification. It recognises a person with advanced knowledge and practical workplace experience in Project Management and who has the ability to plan and execute projects in the healthcare profession.

To achieve the Diploma, an applicant is required to either have completed at least the 5-day (35 hours) face-to-face ‘Advanced Healthcare Project Management’ course delivered by an Accredited Training Provider or the online ‘Advanced Healthcare Project Management’ course, and must be one or more of the following:

a qualified health or medical professional;

working in a healthcare environment for at least one year;  and/or

working with healthcare organisations in the capacity of an adviser, consultant or trainer for at least one year.

In addition, the applicant is required to complete the following as part of the Diploma assessment:

Essay questions that demonstrate knowledge competency;

Workplace evidence that includes a completed project management plan, and close-out report for a real project that the applicant has project managed (that can be up to 2 years in the past);

Third party confirmation by a senior executive in the organisation that the applicant has workplace experience leading healthcare projects; and

Statutory declaration that the work submitted was real and the applicant’s own work.

2. Complete the IIMPM online ‘Advanced Healthcare Project Management’ course and attain an 80% or greater score in the simple multiple choice assessment (part of the course); or

Is there a Workplace Assessment?

How do I achieve the Diploma?

Once meeting the Educational Prerequisites, having met the Pre-assessment Work-based Experience Prerequisites  and you having completed the Workplace Assessment, you will submit the Diploma of Project Management Application.

What Happens if I do not Pass the Workplace Assessment?

You will be allocated a nationally-qualified assessor on enrolling in a Diploma of Project Management course. The assessor will support you collecting the evidence and on assessment, if there is any issues, the assessor will provide clear instructions for your re-submission.

Can I achieve the Diploma and MPM certification?

Yes you can.  After completing the pre-requisite training (or Recognised Prior Learning equivalent), you can gain the MPM certification by application.  The cost of certification is US$177 which is in addition to the cost of enrolling in and being assessed for the Diploma of Project Management.  The different fees for completing the face-to-face or on-line Diploma of Project Management and for completing the assessment processes can be obtained by contacting the Institute at info@iimpm.com

Do I have to Complete the MPM Certification?

Whilst having a MPM certification is not a mandatory prerequisite for the Diploma of Project Management, it is however the smartest pathway to signify you are at a medical project manager level.
